In this picture, Kristie gives a bath to her dog Sassy in 1997. Kristie loved and nurtured a variety of animals in her short lifetime. She spent many hours volunteering at the Chico Creek Nature Center, helping prepare food for injured animals and bonding with a ferret named Aspen. At age 13, she was a junior naturalist intern. The Nature Center is building a museum in Bidwell Park. The Museum will have a room called "Kristie's Nature Lab," a hands-on laboratory where elementary school children will learn about the natural wonders of Northern California.
