Cody Morrison

Another DUI-Chase ends in death of an innocent.

The e-mail's subject line was painfully written:
"Lost our son"

And then the message:

Our 22-year-old son was killed during a police pursuit [to catch a suspected drunken driver] in Scottsdale, AZ, on April 7, 2005. The City found 5 of their officers acted out of policy, when they failed to terminate the pursuit. Also, our Attorney General Andrew Thomas is seeking the Death Penalty in the criminal case of David Szymanski, 22 years old, making it only the second such case in national history, where a vehicle is the murder weapon. We have filed a suit against the City of Scottsdale, and this has been high profile in the Phoenix area.

Feel free to contact me, and I admire you for the work you are doing. There is a lot of information on www.azcentral.com, about the case and our son, Cody Brett Morrison.

Sincerely,

Mark Morrison

Cody was a passenger in an uninvolved car.

"Here are pictures of our grandson Brody, getting his first haircut. I got the honor of holding him. He seems to be very much a Grandpa's boy, much to my delight. I think I mentioned the fact that Brody is a mirror image of Cody when he was a toddler. At times it makes it a little tougher for Denise and I, but Brody has been a Godsend. We get to see him several times a week, and he always runs to us when he sees us." —Mark Morrison

Cody! What young man has not had a picture like this one taken with his truck?
